*Brief Report on the World Wetlands Day*

*World Wetlands Day* event was organized by the *Bhoomithrasena Club* of Bishop Moore College, Mavelikkara on 06/02/2026 (Friday) at Botany Lab 2.
- *Guest Speaker*: Mr. Anandu O., Research Scholar in Plant Science, Santana Dharma College.
- *Theme*: The event highlighted the wetlands (swamps, mangroves, lakes) as the "lungs of Earth's ecosystem," emphasizing their role in water storage, pollution filtration, flood prevention, and biodiversity support.
- *Objective*: To raise awareness about wetland conservation and their ecological importance.
- Dr. Karthika TP welcomed the gathering and Dr Prakash Williams delivered the vote of thanks.
- Most of the club members participated in the meeting.
