The Interdisciplinary Research and Development Cell functions in the college with the following objectives:
1. Optimal Utilisation and sharing of research facilities across various Departments
2. Optimal utilisation funds from various agencies like the UGC, DST, FIST, RUSA and KSCSTE.
3. Green Practices in Research: Research work oriented towards promotion of green products and replacement of plastic materials is being carried out in the research centres of the college. Green synthesis methods are also promoted as far as possible in the synthesis procedures. Collected rain water is used as far as possible for the first level cleaning processes.
4. Social Angle in Research: Research is a major area where the College gives special emphasis to social benefit.The extent of benefit towards the immediate needs of the society is given special importance in the research project proposals put forward by the faculty.
5. Establishing Formal Collaborations and other Collaborative Actvities with institutes and industries of national/International repute
6. Enhancing Students Research Projects and Internships
7. Promoting Publications and Patents
8. Promoting organisation of National/International Seminars and Workshops
