Awareness Talk on Water Quality and Water-Borne Diseases

Audience: Lower Primary Students (Classes 1 to 5)
Program Outline: The program began at 1.30 pm with a warm welcome to all the students and a brief introduction to the importance of the topic. The members of Bhoomithrasena took turns to talk to the kids about the types of water borne diseases (Dhilsha R Rajeeb, Dept. of Botany and Biotechnology), the precautions that need to followed to prevent adverse effects (Anjitha S, Dept. of B.Com Finance), good hygienic practices (Gopika Das T, Dept. of Botany) and ways by which we can conserve water (C K Vishnumaya, Dept. of Zoology). The programme ended with a vote of thanks from the coordinators to the school headmistress, the management and all the student participants. Refreshments were also provided during the programme which ended at 2.30 pm. The classes received a positive response from both students and participants of Bhoomithrasena. Our sena members cited it as a good opportunity for them to grow and reach out to the society and become a part of something bigger than their curriculum and syllabus.
