Chandrayaan III: Celebrating India on the Moon (13th September 2023 at 10.00 am)
Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Bishop Moore College, Mavelikara, celebrated the successful landing of Chandrayaan III on the South pole of the Moon by conducting two exciting events on 13th September 2023: Chandrayaan III quiz and Chandrayaan III Treasure hunt. A total of 60 students and 8 faculty members participated in the entire programme. 16 teams with two team members in each team participated in the quiz. The written preliminary round for the quiz started at 10 am in the Seminar Hall. 5 best teams were selected from a total of 16 teams that participated in the preliminary round. The selected teams participated in the final quiz ”Chandrayaan III: Celebrating India on the Moon” which was conducted in the Salle Visuale Room by Dr. Priya Mary Abraham (Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry). The programme was informative both for the participants and the audience. First:Johan M. Finoy and Pranav M. Pai (S1 BSc Physics) Second:Navami J. and Akshaya P. (S3 BSc Chemistry) Third:Surya P. and Devikrishna S. (S2 MSc Chmistry) Following the quiz a Interstellar Space Treasure Hunt was organized based on Chandrayaan III. 8 teams from various departments of the College participated in the event. Sree Nandan (S5 B. Com Finance) organised the event and Ms. Asha Mariam Thomas (Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce) coordinated the activity. Dr. Dinesh Raj (Assistant Professor, Department of Botany and Biotechnology) handed over the cash prize of Rs 500 to the winning team. Winning team: Sarath, Raichu and Yaseen (S1 B. Com Finance) Objectives: To celebrate the success of India’s lunar mission and encourage students to explore more about Chandrayaan 3 Outcomes: The students were able to test their understanding while gaining information about the significance and successful outcome of the lunar mission.
