Bridge course are conducted to boost up the academic skills and confidence of students in the learning process, the teaching departments shall conduct the Bridge Course for the students prior to the commencement of regular classes or at the beginning of the first semester. The purpose of this Course is not only to bridge the gap between subjects studied previously and the subject to be studied in the programme, but also to clarify and revise the fundamental concept of topic, whether it belongs to the previous programme or new programme. The Bridge Course shall be offered in all Post Graduate/Integrated PG programmes. Bridge Courses are beneficial to students who have been admitted, especially to interdisciplinary programmes. The syllabus shall be designed to cater the needs of the students enrolled in the programme and shall enable the students to grasp advanced topics in regular classes.

Objectives

Bridge Course is an attempt to bridge the gap between students’ shared knowledge at the entry-level and course requirements.

The specific objectives of the Bridge Course are:

i. To provide adequate foundation for the students to demystify various new topics in each of the courses.

ii. To identify the strength, weakness, learning level and area of interest of students.

iii. To revise the fundamental concepts of all key subjects studied previously.
