Bishop Moore College celebrated National Bird Day on 13.11.2023 with a range of programs, organized by the Zoology department in collaboration with the Kerala Social Forestry Department and PathanamthittaBIRDERS. Principal Dr. Ranjith Mathew Abraham inaugurated the event, chaired by Sri. K.S.Harilal (Deputy Forest Range Officer from the Social Forestry Department, Kollam). Seminars covered topics like 'Feathered Friends of Our Ecosystem' , 'An Introduction to Citizen Science' and 'Ebird- An Online Tool for Avian Data Collection.' PathanamthittaBIRDERS Coordinator Hari Mavelikara presented the first-ever Kerala bird map to the principal. A bird and wildlife photo exhibition displayed around 100 captivating pictures, and students actively participated in on-campus bird counting in the evening.
