WORLD ENVIRONMENTAL DAY CELEBRATION 2026
The Department of Economics, Bishop Moore College, Mavelikkara has organized the World Environment Day 2026 celebration on 5 June 2026 at Prof. Elizabeth Memorial Hall. The programme, themed “Inspired by Nature: For Climate, For Our Future,” aimed to promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices among students. The event was inaugurated by Principal Prof. Dr. Renjith Mathew Abraham, who highlighted the importance of Environmental Economics and the need to integrate environmental concerns into economic decision-making. The seed handover ceremony commenced with the Principal presenting seeds to the Guest of Honour, Mr. Robert Raju, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany and Biotechnology. He delivered the keynote address by emphasizing biodiversity conservation, climate action, ecological resilience, and carbon sequestration as essential components of sustainable development. The programme successfully inspired students to adopt environmentally responsible practices and reinforced the importance of collective action in protecting nature for future generations.
